Vibz Age & Teen Safety Policy

Version: 1.0.0 Effective date: 2026-08-27 Last updated: 2026-09-03

This policy explains Vibz's minimum age, the special safety defaults that apply to teens (users between 13 and 17), and what parents and guardians need to know.

It supplements (and does not replace) the Privacy Policy and the Community Guidelines.

1. Minimum age

You must be at least 13 years old to use Vibz. We enforce this both in the app at signup (date-of-birth gate) and on the server (authoritative age check before account creation).

Some jurisdictions impose a higher minimum age. We determine your country from the international dialing code of your phone number at signup and apply the strictest of the baseline floor (13) and your local floor (for example, 16 in Germany and the Netherlands, 15 in France, 14 in Spain and Italy). If your date of birth is below the floor for your country, the account is not created.

If we learn that an account belongs to a child under our minimum age, we will close the account and delete the personal information associated with it. To report an underage account, contact safety@marketvibz.com.

2. The teen tier (13–17)

Accounts where the user's declared date of birth indicates an age between 13 and 17 receive a stricter set of defaults than adult accounts. Teen accounts are sometimes referred to as "restricted accounts" in product copy.

Teen-account defaults are applied automatically and cannot be disabled by the user.

3. Default settings for teens

SettingTeen defaultAdult default

These defaults match the disclosures in the Privacy Policy, the Community Guidelines, and the Recommender & Feed Transparency page, and are enforced both client-side and server-side.

4. Companion Accounts for Minors

Where teen social access controls are enabled, an eligible minor may link to one adult account after both accounts approve. The adult account must have a declared date of birth indicating age 18 or older and the adult must attest that they are authorized to supervise the minor. Vibz does not verify the adult's identity or legal relationship through this linking flow.

The linked adult can allow or withhold specific social capabilities, including direct, media, and voice messages; calls; public posts and comments; groups; follows; and contact discovery. The link is an access-control mechanism only. It does not let the adult sign in as the minor, read or decrypt the minor's messages, listen to calls, see call content, receive copies of communications, or monitor activity. Either linked account can revoke an active link.

Age-restricted content, adult-oriented recommendations, view-once media, disappearing or time-expiring secure media, private groups, and other age-restricted features remain blocked for the minor.

5. Discovery and recommendations for teens

See the Recommender & Feed Transparency page for full recommender detail.

6. Reporting and crisis resources

Anyone — teen or adult — can report a user, group, post, or message in-app via the report flow. Reports tagged as relating to child safety are escalated for priority review. We review reports promptly, prioritize child-safety reports, and comply with applicable statutory deadlines.

In-app crisis resources:

Ireland): text HOME to 741741.

For other countries we surface region-appropriate hotlines based on the device locale.

7. Parents and guardians

If you are a parent or guardian of a teen using Vibz:

data) by contacting privacy@marketvibz.com and providing a copy of valid government-issued identification and proof of guardianship;

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) if you believe your child gave us their information while under 13 — we will delete it on request;

safety@marketvibz.com.

Where teen social access controls are enabled, a linked adult may manage the minor account's allowed social capabilities after both accounts approve the link. The adult does not receive message, call, or activity monitoring access. Parents and guardians should use the request and contact paths above for privacy or safety requests.

8. CSAM and child exploitation

Vibz has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content that sexualises a minor. We:

priority review;

to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline where required by U.S. law (18 U.S.C. §2258A);

obligations;

solicited CSAM.

If you encounter content involving the exploitation of a child, report it in-app immediately. You may also report directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when we add or change teen safety defaults. We will note material changes in the app and ask you to accept them where required.
