Last updated: 2026-06-24 Status: v1 draft pending counsel review.
This policy explains Vibz's minimum age, the special safety defaults that apply to teens (users between 13 and 17), and what parents and guardians need to know.
It supplements (and does not replace) the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and the Trust & Safety page.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Vibz. We enforce this both in the app at signup (date-of-birth gate) and on the server (authoritative age check before account creation).
Some jurisdictions impose a higher minimum age. We determine your country from the international dialing code of your phone number at signup and apply the strictest of the baseline floor (13) and your local floor (for example, 16 in Germany and the Netherlands, 15 in France, 14 in Spain and Italy). If your date of birth is below the floor for your country, the account is not created.
If we learn that an account belongs to a child under our minimum age, we will close the account and delete the personal information associated with it. To report an underage account, contact safety@marketvibz.com.
Accounts where the user's declared date of birth indicates an age between 13 and 17 receive a stricter set of defaults than adult accounts. Teen accounts are sometimes referred to as "restricted accounts" in product copy.
Teen-account defaults are applied automatically and cannot be disabled by the user.
| Setting | Teen default | Adult default |
| Profile discoverability | Limited; not surfaced to adult strangers in discovery | Public-by-default with user control |

| Private group access | Not allowed (cannot create, join, or be added) | Allowed |
| Public group access | Allowed only where the safety rules permit | Allowed |
| Public livestreaming | Not allowed | Allowed |

| Creator monetization | Not allowed | Allowed (with KYC) |
| View-once / time-expiring secure media | Not available | Available |

These defaults match the disclosures in the Privacy Policy, the Community Guidelines, and the Recommender & Feed Transparency page, and are enforced both client-side and server-side.
Companion Accounts for Minors are a draft supervised-minor feature and are available only if enabled by feature flag and approved for release after product, Trust & Safety, privacy, and counsel review.
If offered, an eligible minor may link to one verified adult companion account only after both the minor and the adult approve the relationship. The relationship is opt-in and read-only for the adult companion. The adult companion cannot send messages as the minor, edit or delete the minor's messages, join calls as the minor, change the minor's identity, hide activity from the minor, or turn off reporting or blocking.
An active Companion Account relationship may unlock limited supervised direct messaging, approved group messaging, voice calls, video calls if supported, and call history for the minor. The minor remains blocked from age-restricted content, adult-only stickers or media, adult-oriented recommendations, token purchases, paid channel subscriptions, creator monetization, public livestreaming, view-once media, disappearing or time-expiring secure media, and any feature marked as 18+.
Supervised communications remain subject to Vibz's encryption posture. Companion review is designed around encrypted supervised message copies and related encrypted key records, with decryption occurring locally on the approved adult companion's authorized device. Vibz does not store readable plaintext DM bodies for companion review.
non-contact adult, a teen account does not appear in user search or phone-number lookup at all.
